The Avignon Armchair is built from solid teak with a water-based natural finish, its fully assembled construction — rather than the knock-down approach found on the matching Avalon line — offering a completed, ready-to-place piece for buyers who prefer to skip assembly entirely upon arrival.
Building a chair fully assembled in the workshop rather than designed for on-site construction allows Balinese furniture makers to use joinery techniques optimized purely for structural strength rather than needing to accommodate disassembly and reassembly, resulting in a frame built without any compromise for shipping convenience.
Left uncushioned, the chair's clean, architectural silhouette relies entirely on considered proportion and joinery to carry the design, every joint and curve remaining fully visible with nothing to soften or disguise the underlying construction throughout the piece from every angle.
The water-based natural finish protects the timber while preserving its natural colour and grain, standing up well to regular indoor or covered outdoor use without the flaking or discolouration that lesser finishes can develop over years of exposure to changing humidity and temperature conditions.
For buyers who value receiving furniture ready for immediate use without any assembly step, this fully-built version offers genuine convenience alongside the same solid teak craftsmanship found throughout the wider Avalon and Avignon lines within the collection.
Within a bali furniture living room or dining space, the Avignon offers straightforward, considered craftsmanship in solid teak, ready to place the moment it arrives without any additional assembly required. Because the piece arrives fully built rather than requiring assembly, it's a particularly practical choice for buyers who want to place furniture immediately upon delivery, without needing to set aside time or tools for construction before the chair can actually be used in a room. A lasting favorite among buyers who value genuine handcraft over uniform, mass-produced alternatives. Timeless in its material honesty, and suited to interiors built to last well beyond passing trends. Genuinely considered, genuinely well-made, and built to last for years of regular use throughout a home.

Each piece is individually handcrafted using natural materials. Subtle variations in shape, proportions, color tones, and weaving details are inherent to artisanal production and part of the uniqueness of every creation.
Exceptional materials. Handcrafted by our artisans in Bali. Made to last. Every BaliSouk creation brings authentic boho and bohemian style together with skilled craftsmanship, traditional craft techniques and direct-from-Bali value.
Our boho and bohemian teak furniture is handcrafted from solid teak, one of the world's most prized furniture timbers. Naturally rich in protective oils and valued for stability, strength and longevity, teak is chosen for furniture designed to be kept rather than quickly replaced.
From material preparation and assembly to hand sanding, detailing and finishing, every stage passes through the skilled hands of our artisans in Bali.
Our boho and bohemian furniture and decor draw on the craft traditions for which Bali is known. Our artisans shape, assemble, weave, carve, sand and finish by hand according to the needs of each piece.
True boho and bohemian style is not about disposable trends. BaliSouk pieces combine considered materials, skilled craftsmanship and careful construction so they can remain part of a home for years to come.
Your BaliSouk boho and bohemian piece is made to order and handcrafted in Bali by our own artisans. We do not outsource the craftsmanship to external artisans: human skill remains at the heart of every stage.
BaliSouk supplies private customers and international retailers. Buying directly from Bali gives you access to authentic handcrafted boho and bohemian furniture and decor before the additional layers of wholesale, distribution and traditional retail markup.
