Every plank is air-dried for months before it is touched, so the wood has already done its moving by the time it becomes furniture. In our Indonesian workshops, the wood is shaped, sanded and finished by hand, step by step, by cabinetmakers who have done nothing else for twenty years. A wipe with a soft, dry cloth is all it needs day to day, and an occasional teak oil keeps its warm tone alive.
Surround it with texture — a rattan basket, a linen cushion, an unglazed bowl — rather than more colour. It celebrates the boho way of living: slower, warmer and closer to natural materials.
