The Director Folding Batyline Chair is a teak wood garden chair designed and handmade in Indonesia, measuring 53 × 53 cm and 85 cm high. Light enough to move with one hand, solid enough to leave out all season.
Only heartwood goes into outdoor furniture: it is denser, darker and far more stable than the outer sapwood. Every piece passes through the same workshop in Jepara, where one craftsman follows it from the first cut to the final sanding. No treatment is required. A wash with soapy water in spring is all most owners ever do.
It works as well for a family breakfast in the sun as for a long dinner under lights. It celebrates the boho way of living: slower, warmer and closer to natural materials.
