The Elips Dining Table is a teak wood dining table with real handcrafted character, available in 3 sizes, from 200 × 100 × 75 cm to 250 × 118 × 75 cm. It is the table people linger at long after the plates are cleared.
The best teak is cut from the heart of the trunk, and that is the only part we use — it is denser, darker and far more stable than the outer sapwood. In our Indonesian workshops, the wood is shaped, sanded and finished by hand, step by step, by cabinetmakers who have done nothing else for twenty years. It is shipped knock-down — flat-packed and ready to assemble — which keeps the volume down, protects the piece in transit and makes it far easier to carry through doors and up stairs. Left alone outdoors it will silver into a soft grey patina; a light sanding and an oil brings the honey colour straight back.
Mix it with mismatched chairs and hand-thrown plates for that collected, unstudied look. It celebrates the boho way of living: slower, warmer and closer to natural materials. Thanks to its solid wood construction, it can also live on a covered terrace or veranda.
