The Fernando Daybed is a teak wood poolside lounger built to live outside, measuring 200 × 100 cm and 200 cm high. Built to live outside, and to be lain on every single day.
Only heartwood goes into outdoor furniture: it is denser, darker and far more stable than the outer sapwood. It is built the slow way — hand-cut joinery, hand sanding through three grits, and a finish applied in thin coats rather than sprayed on. It ships knock-down — flat-packed and ready to assemble — which keeps the volume down, protects the piece in transit and makes it far easier to carry through a garden gate. Leave it to silver, or sand lightly and re-oil once a year to hold the honey colour. Both are correct.
Group it around a low table, add cushions in sand and clay tones, and the terrace is done. It celebrates the boho way of living: slower, warmer and closer to natural materials.
