The best teak is cut from the heart of the trunk, and that is the only part we use — it is denser, darker and far more stable than the outer sapwood. In our Indonesian workshops, the wood is shaped, sanded and finished by hand, step by step, by cabinetmakers who have done nothing else for twenty years. Left alone outdoors it will silver into a soft grey patina; a light sanding and an oil brings the honey colour straight back.
Style it with a lamp, a stack of books and a vase to complete the composition. It celebrates the boho way of living: slower, warmer and closer to natural materials.
