Rattan is a climbing palm from the forests of Southeast Asia: light, flexible when steamed and remarkably strong once it dries in shape. Weaving by hand takes time and precision; our artisans in Bali pull each strand tight to create a regular, lasting pattern. Natural rattan meets mahogany, a pairing that brings contrast and depth to the design. Hand weaving leaves subtle irregularities in the pattern, the proof that every piece was made by hand. A soft brush and a slightly damp cloth are all it needs; keep it sheltered from rain and strong sun.
